Children – read to earn a medal and participate in one (or more!) of our great programs

Read your way to a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal.  Here’s how:

Beginning Saturday, June 10 – register in the Children’s Department to receive your reading calendar.

Mark the days you READ or LISTEN to books for 30 minutes or more on your calendar.

Bring your calendar to the Library to earn a coupon for a free DVD rental every time you have read for 10 days. (Remember, Fridays are 2 DVDs for 1 coupon.)

Attend a program and a staff member will mark off an extra day of reading on your calendar.

Bring your calendar to the Library between August 9 and September 6 to receive a Bronze Medal if you have read for at least 20 days, a Silver Medal if you have read for at least 40 days, or a  Gold Medal if you have read for 60 or more days between June 10 and August 19.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge:

Read up to 40 hours this summer and win a Wawa Gift Card. Winners will be automatically entered into a raffle for a prize bag (winner will be drawn August 22, 2017)!  Registration starts June 10, 2017. Ages 13-18 ONLY (or those entering grades 7-12)! For registration after June 10th, click here!

Extra Teen Reading Challenge (optional):

Complete this reading challenge , and hand it in at the Main Desk to be automatically entered into a raffle for a for a prize bag (winner will be drawn August 22, 2017)! Ages 13-18 (or those entering grades 7-12)

Teen Book Reviews:

We want to know what you’ve been reading this summer! Complete a book review for us in exchange for 1 Free DVD coupon! No limit to the amount of reviews you can complete. Ask for a Teen Book Review form at the Main Desk.

Teen and Tween Tuesdays:

Summer hangout at the library for ages 11-18 (or those entering grades 6-12)! Games and snacks are provided.  Every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 5:00pm! No registration required.

July Teen/Tween Activties:

  • 7/18/17: Craft-Bookmark Making
  • 7/25/17: Keva planks, ozo bots, and legos
