Summer Reading Challenge: Teens!

Teen Summer Reading Challenge

The Challenge:

Read up to 40 hours this summer and win a Wawa Gift Card. Winners will be automatically entered into a raffle for a prize bag (winner will be drawn August )!  Registration starts June 9, 2018Ages 13-18 ONLY (or those entering grades 7-12)!

Challenge Your Shelf (optional):

This summer, it’s all about the tropes. Read enough Young Adult literature to check off 25 clichés and be entered into the raffle for a prize bag. Return the form at the Main Desk by August 16th; the raffle drawing will be August 18th.

Find “The Rock” (optional):

All summer long, find Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson around the library. Correctly record the weekly number taped to The Rock and receive your choice of a free DVD coupon or an extra raffle ticket.

Book Playlist (optional):

Create the perfect soundtrack to your favorite book! Fill out a Book Playlist bookmark in exchange for 1 Free DVD coupon! There is no limit to the amount of playlists you can complete. Ask for a Book Playlist Bookmark form at the Main Desk.

*If you choose to only do the optional challenges, you will not win a Wawa gift card. You are allowed to do all challenges to have your name entered into the raffle three times.


Summer Programs

Look for these programs throughout the summer:

 Teen & Tween Tuesday

Every Tuesday 3:30pm – 5pm

Come hang out with crafts, games, movies, and snacks. For tweens and teens (grades 6-12).

Oreo Poker

June 29th, July 27th, August 31st   3pm – 5pm

It’s poker night at the library! Winner gets the oreo jackpot. For teens age 13-18.

Book Club Brunch

June 30th, July 28th, August 25th   1pm – 2pm

Discuss this month’s book over brunch at the library with fellow book lovers! Food and drinks provided. For teens age 14-18. Our first book of the summer will be One of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus; discussion (and waffles!) on June 30th.

Escape the Library Ghost*

Friday, July 13th                         Ages 9-13 @ 1pm             Ages 14-18 @ 3pm

The library ghost has locked you and your friends in the meeting room! Work as a team to solve puzzles and riddles to escape before the time runs out!
